SMS Troubleshooting Manual

 
  1. Purpose  
The purpose of this manual is to provide solution to the problems that you might face while using SMS TerminalBlaster. Whenever you face the problem, please go through this throubleshooting manual to find out the solution. However, if you cannot find the solution to your problem in this manual, please do not hesitate to contact us by email: icscustomdeveloper@gmail.com

2.USB Modem Default Program Error Issues
2.1 USB Modem default program (HSPA USB Modem) show error message "unable to detect the Modem device."

Solutions:
- This error is generated because the USB modem driver that installed failed or incorrect type. You need to re-install the Modem driver.

- Info: The default driver for the USB Modem is good for Windows XP & Vista. If you are using Windows 7, you will need to manually select the Windows 7 driver from the USB Modem internal driver folder.

- First, remove the USB Modem from the computer, and then uninstall the previously installed driver. Go to -> All Programs -> Mobile Connect -> Uninstall Mobile Connect.

- After finished uninstall, plug the USB Modem into the computer again. Click cancel on all the "Found New Hardware" from Windows.

- If you are using Windows XP or Vista, Go to -> My Computer -> click on (F:)\driver\setup.exe to install the USB Modem driver for Windows XP or Vista.

- If you are using WIndows 7, Go to -> My Computer -> click on (F:):\ windows 7 32 bits driver \driver\setup.exe to install the USB Modem driver for Windows 7.

2.2 During runing the USB Modem default program, Telco's operator (Maxis/ Celcom/Digi) registration takes very long time or failed.
Solutions:
- This error is generated because the "Operator Line Signal" is very weak.

- Relocate the Computer & Modem to places near to window and Main Entrance where the "Operator Line Signal" is good. You can verify the Signal Srength using your Mobile Phone.

2.3 Unable to detect SIM card.
Solutions:
- This error generated because the inserted SIM card is unstable and unable to be detected.

- Change a new SIM card.

3. SMS TerminalBlaster Program Startup Error Issues
3.1 Computer Port Error!!!
Solutions:
- This error is generated because of few reasons as below:

(1) The USB Modem default program (HSPA USB MODEM) is not "exit" yet. You need to close / exit the USB Modem default before start running the SMS TerminaBlaster program because the "Modem" cannot be shared by two programs at the same time.

(2) Setting of COM port is incorrect. Please refer to STEP 3 & STEP 4 of the "Quick Start Guide" for detail solution.

(3) The USB Modem is not plug-in or plugged into the diffrence USB port. You need to plug the USB MODEM COM port number generated by computer will be diffrence if it is inserted to diffrence USB port.

3.2 SMS Terminal Failed!
Solutions:
- This error is generated because few reasons as below:

(1) Due to the above "Computer Port Error !!! ".Once the Computer Port Error solved, this Error will be solved automatically.

(2) Due to diffrence / wrong USB Modem driver version.The correct driver version should be dated at =2007-03-29.Refer to above 2.1 for detail of uninstall and re-install of the correct USB Modem driver.

(3) USB MODEM not responding fast enough. Just re-start te SMS TerminalBlaster program for several times.

4. System Error
4.1 Error Message ("Error !!! Check the SIM Card !" ) during SMS sending.
Solution:
- This error is generated because few reasons as below:

(1) The SIM card has not enough "money" or "expired" and bar from Telco to send out SMS. So reload the money or change a new SIM card.

(2) The "Operator Line Signal" is very weak and unstable. Relocate the Computer & Modem to place near to window and main entrance where the "Operator Line Signal" is good. You can verify the Signal Strength using your Mobile Phone.

(3) The SIM card used is too old. You need to go back to Telco (Maxis/ Celcom/ Digi) to upgrade the SIM card to the latest version SIM card.

4.2 Error message ("Error !!! Check the SIM Card !") when first new SMS received.
Solution:
- This error is generated because the SIM card memory / storage not enough / full. This error will only happend if the newly inserted SIM card memory / storage is already very limited and full. So must make sure the SIM Card memory / storage is not limited / full before insert it to the USB Modem. Delete some of the SIM card' s SMS inside the "InBox" and "Sent items" folder using your mobile phone before insert to the Modem.
